I tested for covid and influenza A and B after work this morning and I tested negative for all three things. But later this evening, my dad went to urgent care and he was diagnosed with COVID-19. Since I was exposed to him all weekend and we virtually have all the same symptoms, they think I just tested too early and will have covid in a couple of days.
We are all worried about my dad because he will be 66 in a couple weeks and was given some prescription so he (hopefully) won’t have to be hospitalized. My mom was supposed to have eye surgery next week and now that one, maybe two of us have the covid, it could jeopardize her chances of getting her surgery.
I have been on the phone for the past hour with my work trying to get a response if I have to still go in or not. I have talked to three different dispatchers and the on call coordinator and she said she would try to get someone to cover for me, but I haven’t heard back yet.
I sound and feel awful and can hardly stay awake. And now it is the first week of school so there is no time for snoozing.
…
Finally got the okay to stay home tonight from work, thank the Lord. I was told to get retested for covid tomorrow so I have an appointment at 2:30pm. I am going to bed now and can hopefully study whenever I wake up. I am not looking forward to the next few days.
Much love,
Dani
