Today was day 2 on my steroids and GI medication. I haven’t thrown up and my lungs feel a lot clearer. Still waiting on my COVID-19 results, but the fact that I’m getting better is pretty reassuring that I don’t have covid, just a stupid viral infection.
I applied to two jobs last night, one for a registered behavior technician and one to be a RBT assistant. Both are in close proximity to my home with Diego and at both I would be making bank; better money than I have ever made before in my life, including when I worked for the Navy. Both jobs got back to me today. The assistant job I was able to interview online and will await a response of a job offer. They were very prompt with their messages so I think I should find out tomorrow if I got it or not.
As for the technician job, she said if I could pass the RBT 40 hour training and exam, the job was mine. This one was about 20 minutes from my house, but all the training is online and free. I have started it, but haven’t gotten too terribly far since I had to do a couple chores around the house.
Today, I made potato soup in the crockpot. It was very easy, didn’t require a rue, and was very yummy. I diced up some potatoes and white onion and threw it in the crockpot with 2 cans of chicken broth on low for five hours. I mashed the potatoes up with a masher and I put some Johnny’s seasoning salt and black pepper in there with some minced garlic. I also added the bacon bits (I fried up about a pound of bacon). I added a small container of heavy whipping cream, a little bit of milk, some sour cream. Let that all simmer for 20 minutes and voila! you can garnish it with your favorite baked potato toppings. It was pretty good, but I only put in 5 potatoes so it wasn’t super filling. I added leftover ham steak to the bacon bits which helped. It would have been good with a nice French bread, but I worked with what I had.
I took a nap after I ate my soup and now I am chilling until Diego gets home from work. god has blessed me thoroughly today and I’m excited to see what the future holds.
