Habit Tracking 31 Days of May

So some of you know who read my blog often enough that I was tracking certain daily habits in the month of May and this is a post to say how that went!

I used this form I found on Amazon that came in a pack of 20, is also double sided and can fit inside of a Happy Planner since that is where I kept my habit tracker; in my planner so I wouldn’t forget to write every day down.

I mainly used it to keep track of my mood and I was curious to know how my weight fluctuated throughout the month and how much I smoked and drank. The rest just mildly piqued my curiosity.

I’ll start from the top of the list and work my way down.

My mood probably surprised me the most out of all of the stats I collected because I ranked mood based on four categories:

mania

depression

other (delusions, hallucinations, gaslighting behavior, paranoia, etc)

and level headed.

I had ZERO (0) other days that I was aware of.

I was only depressed 6 out of 31 days aka 19% of the month

I was manic almost an equal amount of time as being depressed so that was 8 out of 31 days, so a whopping 26%.

The rest of the days I was more or less level headed for at least the majority of the day so that leaves 17 out of 31 days otherwise known as 55% more than half of my month was level headed.

Takeaway

I probably have like 25% other behaviors/mood if I was more aware of what “other” meant when first creating this type of mood tracker. I think they were all present during the month of May, but didn’t control my day or at least the majority of my day so I let it slide in the tracking of the other category.

I was surprised I was more manic than depressed throughout the month but it aligned with life happenings which was kind of neat to witness visually.

More surprising than all of that is the fact that I felt “normal” FIFTY FIVE PERCENT OF THE MONTH. Those days were filled with many ups and downs emotionally but for the most part on those specific days, I woke up content and I went to bed content.

Med Check

I did meds every day with one day being late which isn’t listed in the graph but late is better than skipped or never so I count that as 100%. A few of those days I ended up taking my as needed PRN of hydroxyzine to help me sleep which helped and those were on days I did not consume or smoke weed. For June’s tracker, I will be keeping track how much of my PRN meds I need throughout the month whether it be for anxiety or needing to sleep due to mania or intrusive thoughts.

Water intake

Clearly I drink water to some extent during the day but I set a pretty lofty goal of 64 ounces of water a day (8 cups) so it was hard to meet or exceed that goal more than 26% of this month.

I did this half and half. At first I had a slow start and then ended the month blogging nearly every day so I want to be a tad bit more consistent come June.

Weight Loss

I lost 2% of my body weight so I went from 198 pounds to 194 from the beginning to the end of May. I am now 191 as of June 1st and keep going lower and lower which is good. I was prescribed ozempic to help with weight loss even though it’s a diabetic medication and I am not diabetic. But it is so hard to come by so I haven’t been able to take any so I am waiting for the pharmacy to get that in so that will help with weight loss.

I am not unhappy with where I am weight-wise but I am on the cusp of potentially becoming pre diabetic and I don’t want that if I can help it. So the goal is to lose weight and maybe start working out again, but I start work on Tuesday and I will be on my feet majority of the day so I am excited about that and I want to track if and when (sooner rather than later) I stop vaping because I need to quit again.

Self care / read scripture

Self care I did good on focusing on myself last month; 65% went to self care.

I only read scripture 3 days so that is 9% of the month. I was able to read the book of revelations in that time and it was interesting but I was reading on my phone which I hate doing so that’s why I didn’t read more. I own a Bible, it is packed away somewhere.

Period tracker

Didn’t get a period this month due to my birth control so I know for certain I am not pregnant but I need to get my non hormonal IUD soon so that will help me get my lady hormones back up and not have all of these issues.

Vice Tracker

Although I won’t go into specifics with my sex tracker, I was surprised to find out that I drank more than I smoked last month; 42% for booze and 29% for weed. I spent a lot of my days with my friend who likes to drink so I found myself having one drink in solidarity so it wasn’t like I was getting drunk on those 13 days.

So that’s all, folks. Let me know what you think in the comments!

much love,

Dani
